Dear Internet, Let’s Bring Back Fun Websites

I’ve been missing the old web lately. Back when people made websites just for the fun of it. No products to sell, no email lists to grow, no personal brands to build. Just pure internet energy. You’d find sites about someone’s favorite Pokémon, their pet hamster, or a random obsession they felt like sharing.

You’d find pages filled with dancing GIFs, pixel fonts, fan art, random collections of links. There was personality in every corner. And yeah, maybe some broken pages too, but that was part of the charm.

These days, everything feels too clean. Too optimized. Every website has a goal. And that’s fine, but not everything needs to be a product.

So maybe it’s time we brought some of that chaos back. Make something useless. Make something small. Make something fun.

The internet doesn’t have to be serious all the time.
